To connect to wireless before logon - Windows 10
- Login as normal.
- If you have logged in with a CAEDM account before you should be able to get in.
- ...else, use a local admin account.
- Ensure you are connected to the secure wireless network (EDUROAM for instance).
- Right-Click on the network icon in the system tray, and click Open Network & Internet Settings.
- Click Change adapter settings
- Double-click your wireless adapter - it will be the one with the green wireless connectivity bar next to it.
- Click Wireless Properties
- Select the Security tab.
- Select Advanced Settings.
- Click the checkbox button "Specify authentication mode:"
- Below this, select "User authentication" in the dropdown menu.
- Click Save Credentials
- You will be asked to put in your User and Password; enter the credentials of the wireless network you are currently connected to
- If EDUROAM is the wifi use "netID@byu.edu:netIDpassword" for login credentials
- Warning: this will mean this computer and its activity is registered to this user. Use with judgment.
- Click OK twice.
- Click Close.
You have now configured Windows to connect to the wireless network before logging in. New CAEDM logins should work now.
