To connect to wireless before logon - Windows 10

  1. Login as normal.
    1. If you have logged in with a CAEDM account before you should be able to get in.
    2. ...else, use a local admin account.
  2. Ensure you are connected to the secure wireless network (EDUROAM for instance).
  3. Right-Click on the network icon in the system tray, and click Open Network & Internet Settings.
  4. Click Change adapter settings
  5. Double-click your wireless adapter - it will be the one with the green wireless connectivity bar next to it.
  6. Click Wireless Properties
  7. Select the Security tab.
  8. Select Advanced Settings.
  9. Click the checkbox button "Specify authentication mode:"
  10. Below this, select "User authentication" in the dropdown menu.
  11. Click Save Credentials
  12. You will be asked to put in your User and Password; enter the credentials of the wireless network you are currently connected to
    1. If EDUROAM is the wifi use "netID@byu.edu:netIDpassword" for login credentials
    2. Warning: this will mean this computer and its activity is registered to this user.  Use with judgment.
  13. Click OK twice.
  14. Click Close.

You have now configured Windows to connect to the wireless network before logging in. New CAEDM logins should work now.
